Internet and Intranet

Anyone with access to the World Wide Web can view a site on the Internet. If you create a web site with pictures of your pet, people can see it worldwide.

MyData Portal, on the other hand, is on the district's Intranet. To access the site, you must use a computer connected to the district's network. This restricts people outside the district from viewing MyData Portal.

Simply visit the site at http://mydata.dallasisd.org (or simply http://mydata) to find out if you are on the DISD's Intranet. If you get an error page, it is very likely that you are not on the district's Intranet.

Having MyData Portal on the Intranet and requiring user accounts to view confidential information are safeguards to protect teachers' and students' confidential information.
